Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter

Year: 1972

Director: Brian Clemens

Producers: Hammer Film Productions

Starring: Horst Janson, Caroline Munro, Lois Daine, and John Cater

“Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter” is a 1972 British action horror film written and directed by Brian Clemens known for his screenwriting for the TV show “The Avengers” as well as other movies like “The Golden Voyage of Sinbad”, “The Watcher in the Woods”, and “See No Evil”.

Originally meant to be a series of films “Captain Kronos” bombed at the box office, with Hammer Film Productions originally closing in 1979 the Captain Kronos series never came to be, however, its influence has been felt in more successful and well-known vampire properties such as “Blade” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, unlike earlier vampire movies such “Nosferatu” and Hammer Films 1958 classic “Dracula,” this is because the primary focus was vampire itself rather than the man killing them.

The movie’s plot centers around Captain Kronos played by Horst Janson taking on a vampire threat in a local town where the victims are young and attractive women with the help of his assistant Grost played by John Cater and his love interest Carla played by Caroline Munro.

In short, if you like me as someone who likes campy horror movies, and vampires, or you’re a massive fan of Hammer Film Production movies in general I say that this is the movie for you.
