“Breaking Bad” was the chemical-reaction of great writing and direction

“I am not in danger, Skyler. I AM the danger.” – Walter White

Year Released: Jan. 20th 2008

I want to take this review to talk about a pretty popular show that’s garnered quite a few memes in recent years, and that’s “Breaking Bad”. Vince Gilligan both created and produced the show that would air on AMC on January 20th 2008. With an impressive 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, 9.5 on IMDb, and a 4/5 on Common Sense Media, it’s safe to say the show was well received. The stars go as follows: Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, Bob Odenkirk, and Giancarlo Esposito. While not the entire main cast, these were ones who were already known or blew up due to the series. If you’re already interested, you can watch the entire series on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

I’m sure everyone and their mother has seen this show, but I’ll give a short overview. Walter White (Cranston), a 50 year old Science teacher, is recently diagnosed with cancer and feels as though he’s wasted his life. With the help of a former student, age 24, he begins to learn about the drug world to both excite his life with the time he has left and leave money behind for his family. With that premise said, you should probably watch the trailer right here. As far as my thoughts go, I absolutely enjoyed the series from start to finish. It was a roller coaster of emotions and a great experience, for older teens and adults that is.

This show never fails on the levels of suspenseful drama from an unlikely duo set in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Vince even created a tie-in/semi-prequel and sequel series due to the popularity of the lawyer, Saul Goodman. The show premiered just 2 years after Breaking Bad finished, but I’m getting ahead of myself. If you’d like to know my thoughts on the series, be sure to click this linked text for that review.
